Tansi! Edlanete! Kwe'! Hello and good day!

Kahkike Homes is a new therapeutic home designed specifically for high-risk youth in Canada. Based in Edmonton, AB, the home provides youth with a safe place to live while also facilitating opportunities to address their trauma through holistic healing practices, including land-based teachings, attending ceremonies, meeting with Elders and Knowledge Keepers and western therapy methods. All staff working in the home are trained in trauma-informed practices and are skilled at and passionate about working with high-risk youth.

Our approach

Incorporates a harm reduction philosophy, a resiliency/strength-based approach, collaborative work with the community, as well as gaining an understanding of attachment issues and how this can impact brain development.

The focus is on building relationships and supporting the youth by creating safety plans and involving youth in all aspects of service provision and decision making.
